AAUA students union cancels congress

The Students Union leaders of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko has postponed their scheduled congress till further notice.
In a press release signed by the Union’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Babalola David, he stated that the Congress has to be put on hold to ensure the safety of the students.
He explained that the union was considering the uncertainty of the security atmosphere and consultations from various security experts.
Recall that the management released a circular signed by the university’s Acting Registrar, Mr A. O Akinfemiwa, stating that no congress should hold on Monday as all students are to resume fully for the first semester academic calendar.
The circular strictly warned the students to desist from disrupting the peace of the institution.
