The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has called on the 6,837 graduands of the institution to maintain strong ties with the Alumni Association.

Prof. Ige made the appeal on Friday during the university’s 13th Convocation Ceremony held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall.

Highlighting the importance of a continued relationship with the Alumni Association, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised that such connections would greatly contribute to the growth and development of the university.

He also urged the graduands to serve as steadfast ambassadors of AAUA, reflecting the high-quality education and moral grounding they received during their studies.

In his address, he said:
“As we gather to celebrate the remarkable achievements of today’s graduands, I wholeheartedly urge each of you to uphold and embody the values instilled in you during your time at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

“These values – integrity, innovation and excellence, are the cornerstones of the education you have received here and will serve as guiding principles as you step into the larger world.

“I encourage you to be unwavering ambassadors of this great institution, showcasing these virtues in all that you do. Let your actions, decisions, and contributions reflect the quality of the education and moral grounding you have acquired at AAUA.

“Remember that you carry the name of this university with you, and through your achievements, you can elevate its reputation and inspire future generations of students.

“Stay deeply connected with the Alumni Association, which serves as a bridge between you and your alma mater. By staying involved, you can contribute to the growth and development of this institution, which has nurtured your aspirations and shaped your potential. Giving back, whether through mentorship, financial support, or advocacy, is a powerful way to express your gratitude and ensure that future students benefit from an even richer educational experience.
