AAUA VC urges  students to pursue  excellence

The newly-admitted students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State,  have been advised to abide by the rules and regulations governing the University in order to achieve the set goal.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, gave the advice,  during the Matriculation Ceremony for the  newly admitted    students to the University’s Institute of Education, (IOE), in affiliation with the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.

Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Francis Gbore, the Vice Chancellor also charged the  matriculating  students  to shun vices as the university has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct.

“Every organized society and community is governed by rules to regulate human activities and conducts, and AAUA is no exception. Let me sound it to you that both AAUA and the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, have zero tolerance for vices,  focus on your academic pursuits and be good ambassadors of the school.

“We have the legal instruments, not only to discover sundry acts of indiscipline, including examination misconduct, rape, cult activities, theft, but to also deal with them in accordance with the law. I would therefore like to advise you to be focused, determined, diligent and law abiding”, the VC said.

The VC congratulated the new students whom he affirmed passed through  rigorous tests and were  admitted on merit, adding that the University has put in place requisite facilities and manpower to enable them to have a memorable stay on campus.

In his remark, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engineer Dayo Oladebeye, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Mrs. Josephine Omoniyi, thanked AAUA Management for administering the programme in tandem with the regulations of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and advised the students to focus on their studies.

The Rector said, “My gratitude goes to the Management of AAUA for its assistance and supervision towards  ensuring  that our modus operandi is in accordance with the regulations of the University and the National Universities Commission, NUC.”.

Cross section of the students who spoke with  Journalists  after the ceremony, expressed their joy and promised to take their studies seriously.
