Abduction: Ekiti Catholic Diocese goes spiritual

The Catholic Diocese of Ekiti has embarked on spiritual warfare in search of the abducted Father. Revd. Fr Michael Olofinlade.
The Diocese said barely 48-hour after the priest was kidnapped, the abductors were yet to contact neither the Diocese not the family of the victim.
In a statement signed by the Director of Social Communications of the Diocese, Revd Fr. Anthony Ijasan, said ” the abductors were yet to contact the Bishop or any other group or person in the Diocese”
“The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of the Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, Most Revered Felix Ajakaye, has called on the church to continue to pray fervently for the quick release of the victim.
“While waiting for the abductors to make contact with the Diocese, the Bishop solicits prayers for the and quick release of father Olofinlade.”
It was learnt that a Holy Mass was organised in many of the Catholic Churches across the State apparently to pray for the quick release of the abducted cleric.
Similarly, in a letter personally signed by the Bishop of the Diocese and sent to all Catholic Parishes in the State, directed all members of the church to embarked on what he called fervent prayers on the quick release of the priest.
Recall that Revd. Fr. Michael Olofinlade, Priest in charge of Saint George’s Catholic Church Omu-Ekiti in Oye local government was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen between Itaji and Ijelu-Ekiti about 4 kilometre to his parish.
The Priest who said to have waved down by the gunmen at a damaged portion of the road and whisked away to unknown destination.
Though, the Commandant of the Amatekun Corps, Ekiti State Command, Brigadier Joe Komolafe, promised to rescue the abducted priest and arrest the culprits.
