Abductors of petrol attendant in Ilaje demand N600m

The abductors of a 30-year-old petrol station attendant, Temitope Akinbote, in Magbehinwa, in Ilaje Local Government area have demanded the sum of N600million as ransom  for her release.

According to the head of the victim’s family, Mr. Afolabi Ikuomola, who spoke with The Hope Metro on Thursday, he said the incident happened last Saturday February 10, 2024.

He said the unidentified gunmen stormed the community at about 11pm, broke into the room through the window and abducted the 30-year-old pump attendant.

Ikuomola explained that the kidnappers came in a speed boat with guns and took the victim away nude while the inhabitants of the community scamper to safety.

He said they shot sporadically into the air until they sped off with their victim in the boat at the wee hour of the night.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers were reported to have contacted the manager of the Filling Station demanding about $500,000 ransom.

Security sources who confirmed the incident, said security operatives in the area have been alerted. They also revealed a suspect has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.

The suspect was said to be in the custody of the Nigerian Navy of Forward Operational Base, Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo
