ACA, FGGS, others in championship semifinals

Hostility continues today at the ongoing two-day Sports Development Championship holding among some selected secondary schools in Akure metropolis.
Four secondary schools within Akure will compete in table tennis and Basketball in male and female categories of the championship.
Aquinas College Akure, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure, Akure High School and Akure Secondary Commercial were the schools competing in the two-day development championship holding at the State Sports Complex, Akure.
Sporting Hope gathered that Omotayo Monday of Akure Secondary Commercial School, will tackle Kayode Ayomide of Akure High School in the first male semi finals organized by Prince Ade sports Foundation in conjunction with Ondo State Sports Council.
While the duo of Aquinas College Akure students, Adams Damilare and Sunday Emmanuel will square up against each other in the second semi finals.
In the female category, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School students in person of Olatunbosun Oluwasemilore and Adeleye Pamilerin will also play against each other in the first semi finals.
Moyinoluwa Asebusuyi of Akure High School will trade tackles with Adeyemi Eniola of Akure Secondary Commercial School in the second semi final.
In a chat with Sporting Hope, the sponsor of the competition, Prince Adesunkanmi Adesida said he decided to sponsor the competition among the secondary schools to contribute his quota towards the development of sports in the state.
He said: “Knowing fully well, that government at all levels can not develop sports alone, hence the reason to join the state sports council to positively keep the students busy.
“As a sports man, I decided to partner with the sports council to discover budding talents for the state and contribute to the “Catch Them Young Policy” of the state government,” he stated.
