It was a battle of knowledge and brilliancy as secondary schools students in Ondo State engaged in activities during the Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School Press Club Day celebration.

The event, which featured activities such as news casting, quiz, debate, and spelling bee competitions, was organized to celebrate and showcase talents among the students.

The guest speaker and Education Page Editor of The Hope, Mr. Saheed Ibrahim, emphasized the need to acquire relevant skills for pressmen to be successful in the contemporary media space.

He also highlighted the importance of practical work experience and networking in the journalism field, encouraging the young pressmen to exploit every opportunity they have to advance their ambitions.

After the quiz competition, Press Club members of Command Day Secondary School emerged as winners, with their Oyemekun Grammar School counterparts coming second and Aquinas College in third position.

However, students from Aquinas College won the debate and spelling bee competitions, with their arch rivals from Oyemekun Grammar School coming second in both competitions.

St. Michael Catholic High School came third in the debate, while Command Day Secondary School came third in the spelling bee competition.
