Adefisoye lauds Aiyedatiwa for Akure-Idanre road dualisation

By Kayode Olabanji

Former federal lawmaker, Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye, has hailed Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for officially flagging off the dualisation of the Akure-Idanre Road, describing it as a major infrastructural breakthrough for the state.

Adefisoye, widely known as ‘Small Alhaji’, said the commencement of the 10-kilometre Akure to Idanre dual carriageway marks a significant step towards easing traffic congestion and improving access between Akure, the state capital, and Idanre, a key agrarian community.

The flag-off event, which took place at the Arakale-Oke Aro Junction in Akure, signals the beginning of a road project that features a 28-metre wide dual lane, solar-powered streetlights, and a modern traffic management system.

“This road project is a game-changer for our farmers and traders who have endured decades of hardship in moving their goods to Akure due to poor road conditions,” Adefisoye said.

He emphasised that the Akure-Idanre road dualisation will not only enhance transportation but also boost the local economy, promote tourism to the famous Idanre Hills, and support agricultural development across the region.

Adefisoye, who represented Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly, lauded the governor’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises under the “OUR EASE” 7-Point Development Agenda.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership is clearly results-driven. This bold initiative places him among the most impactful leaders in Ondo State’s history,” he stated.

The former lawmaker expressed his full support for the Aiyedatiwa administration and urged stakeholders to work collectively to ensure timely completion of the Akure-Idanre dual carriageway.

He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating the enabling environment for infrastructural development at the state level.

“We are proud of this bold step by the governor. We pray for continued wisdom and strength as he leads Ondo State towards sustainable growth and development,” Adefisoye concluded.
