Adejuyigbe Volleyball tournament gets new date

The much talked second edition of the Professor Omolade Adejuyigbe secondary school volleyball tournament in Ondo state will now hold between Wednesday 5, and Thursday 6,June 2019.

Confirming the new date and preparation, was a national volleyball coach, Adeniyi Adekalu during an interactive session with sports journalists at the Akure sports complex.

Adekalu, who is also the state volleyball coach, confirmed that over 12 secondary schools and colleges  within the state have all confirmed their readiness to storm the state sports complex for the tournament.

It will be recalled that the first edition of the Professor Adejuyigbe volleyball tournament took place at the famous Oyemekun grammar school and had produced players, who represented Nigeria and the state at the junior cadet volleyball tournament, most recent was at the national youth sports festival in Ilorin Kwara state.

According to him, other technical crew in and outside the state will team up to identify talents that will also be groomed for the upcoming national youth festival.

He further noted that accreditation will start at exactly eight o’clock in the morning while the tournament proper starts at exactly nine o’clock.

While fielding questions from journalists on the benefits of taking part in the event, coach Adekalu said cash prizes, medals and trophies will be available for first, second and third position, while a popular telecommunications company in Nigeria MTN has also promised to donate souvenirs to participating teams and fans.
