Adelami honoured in Owo

…as stakeholders drum support for Aiyedatiwa
Ondo State Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, mni, was on Saturday hosted to a grand reception by The Pathfinders Leadership Group, following his appointment as number two citizen in the State by the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Adelami, an indigene of Owo and retired Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly was inaugurated as the Deputy Governor on Thursday February 1, 2024.

The Olateru Olagbegi Civic Centre, Owo, venue of the grand reception was filled to capacity as friends and associates, APC stakeholders, captains of industry, members of the academia, royal fathers, community leaders, Owo sons and daughters as well as well-wishers joined the Deputy Governor at the colourful event.
Dr. Adelami was accompanied to the grand reception by his wife, Abosede Oluwabukola.

Also at the event, the Deputy Governor was conferred with Grand Patron of the group.
The convener, The Pathfinders Leadership Group, Bolu Akadri, described the occasion as a moment where they come together as a community to acknowledge the dedication, passion and commitment of one of their own who has risen to serve the people with distinction and honour.
He particularly commended the philanthropic gesture of the Deputy Governor, and called for more unity and collaboration among Owo sons and daughters to address all challenges and ensure a better future for the ancient town and its residents.

“As we welcome our Deputy Governor, we also celebrate the spirit unity and collaboration that defines us. We understand that true progress is achieved when communities come together to support and uplift one another. His Excellency, your presence here today fills us with pride and inspires us to reach for greater heights.

Let us work hand in hand with the Deputy Governor to tackle the challenges ahead and create opportunities for growth and prosperity”, he added.
He also explained that the launch of 1000 tech training programs symbolized their unwavering commitment to embracing the future, innovation, and to empowering their people with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the 21st century digital era.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, lauded the group for leading by example in assisting them to find their path to successful, progressive and prosperous landmark leadership in every sphere of their life.
Speaking on the Honouree, Adelami, Chief Ekungba described his appointment as Deputy Governor as widely acceptable to all Owo sons and daughters, saying his appointment has brought a relief to the people of the community after the death of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
He particularly drummed support for Governor Aiyedatiwa, and called on Owo sons and daughters to give unwavering support to the Governor for what he has done for the community.
According to him, 95 per cent of votes in Owo in the April 20 governorship primary will be delivered to Governor Aiyedatiwa on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Speaking at the reception, the Deputy Governor, appreciated the organisers for the honour done him, with a promise to continue to do his best to develop the community, the youth and the less privileged.
On the coming APC primary, Adelami urged the people to give his principal, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, necessary support to ensure he is returned as Governor of the state to further take the state to the next level of greatness, saying that his administration has brought a lot of transportation in all critical sectors of the economy.
He charged the gathering to keep their voter’s card intact and spread the gospel of Lucky Aiyedatiwa across the nook and cranny of the state.
A lecture titled, “The Place of Owo in the political structure of Ondo State beyond 2025”, was delivered by Tohib Omoloja,
