Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called for increased investment in digital infrastructure and technological innovation as a key driver of economic growth and job creation in Nigeria.
Speaking through Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, Commissioner for Water Resources, at the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications (ICEPT 2025) in Osogbo, the governor emphasised that power and telecommunications are crucial to national development.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding energy access, modernising infrastructure, promoting digital inclusiveness, and creating an enabling environment to attract local and foreign investments
He described electrical and electronic engineers as “nation builders” whose work sustains industries, strengthens communication, and connects vital sectors such as health, education, and governance.
Adeleke commended the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) for its leadership in advancing power and telecom development.
He urged stakeholders to develop actionable strategies to boost energy security, technological advancement, and employment opportunities.
Earlier, the President and Chairman in Council of NIEEE, Mr. Felix Olu praised the Osun State Government for hosting the event and reiterated the institute’s commitment to supporting national growth through innovation.
