Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has said that  one of the ways to save the state useful amount of money is to have roads that will stand the test of time and allow government focus on other areas of development.

The  governor said the present administration will give necessary support to the Osun Road Maintenance Agency(ORMA) in a bid to have  routine maintenance of existing roads across the State.

He stated this during the ongoing briefing exercise by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in a bid to update the new government on the current situation of things as regards governance.

The governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi said if roads are in good shape for many years, the economy of the State will improve and government will have more resources to run other sectors.

He added that the present administration in the state is determined to ensure that all infrastructures put in place for the people will be such that will stand the test of time.

The Governor assured  the agency saddled with the responsibility of road maintenance in the state(ORMA)that his administration  will  give it   the necessary support  it deserves so as to carry out it’s primary responsibility on road maintainance.

According to him, “this is a new dawn in our dear State, we need your cooperation to speed things up in terms of road maintenance, let us know your challenges and it will be fixed as soon as possible for the benefit of the masses.

“I can assure you that things can only get better and it is all of us that will enjoy the benefit”. The Governor stated.

Earlier, while making his presentation, the General Manager (ORMA), Engr. Zacheus Ategbero implored the State Government to assist in the recruitment of able bodied men into the agency, saying they are the ones needed for manual labour in road maintenance.
