Adeleke rehabilitates displaced victims of Osun communal clashes

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the immediate establishment of three camps for displaced people from Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun.
The decision followed the recent destruction of houses and other properties in the three warring communities.
The governor issued the directive after the distribution of food and relief materials to the displaced people through the palaces of each affected town.
“Now that the distribution of food and relief materials has commenced, I have directed the state emergency agency to proceed with setting up camps for the displaced people.
“Each town is to have a camp, possibly in their town halls or any location of their choice. Security agencies are to screen displaced individuals before transporting them to the camps.
“The emergency agency will provide food and other essential items for the displaced people until the situation normalises,” Adeleke stated.
The emergency agency has also reached out to National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) for further support, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Meanwhile, Adeleke has commended security agencies for promptly implementing his directive to investigate and prosecute key ringleaders of the communal crisis.
“All the culprits must be brought to justice. There must be accountability. I expect suspects to be charged to court as soon as possible,” the governor noted.
The statement also disclosed that the 24-hour curfew earlier declared in the affected communities will remain in place, with security surveillance further tightened.
