The Chairman, Owena Press Limited, Sir Ademola Adetula has admonished students to be diligent with their academics and acquire needed skills to succeed in the media industry.
Adetula, who received pupils of Watersprings International School, Akure, who were on excursion to the only newspaper publishing organisation in Ondo state, said the media are the only professionals that could hold powerful people to account.
While adding that journalists can knock and open any door in the world, he stressed that anyone that will practice journalism must be resourceful and knowledgeable.
Led by Mr. Ebenezer Toluwalase and other staff members of the school, the pupils visited Owena Press to acquire knowledge on news gathering, writing, newspaper production and circulation.
After going round the departments in the organisation and tutored on how news stories are gathered and published, the pupils could not hold back their excitements, stating that their visit had deepened their knowledge and advanced their interest in journalism practices.
