Hostilities continued at the third Adu Unity Football Competition as Yakoma FA defeated Obere United 2–0 at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
Thomson Okonkwo and Afolabi Akinlade found the net in each half of the entertaining encounter.
Obere United regrouped after conceding early and pressed hard to reduce the deficit midway through the game, but the Yakoma goalkeeper was well positioned to deny them on several occasions. The match eventually ended 2–0 in favour of Yakoma FA.
In the second fixture of matchday four, Velocity FC came from behind to secure a 2–2 draw against Florence Joshua Football Academy (FJ FA).
FJ FA took an early lead with goals from Soji Adu and Arinze Ani in the first half. However, Velocity FC showed resilience, shaking off the early setback to stage an impressive comeback and earn a point from the thrilling encounter.
The final game of the day saw FEMA FA and Barrack Eagles play out a goalless draw, as neither side managed to find the back of the net throughout the match.
The grassroots competition continues today at the Ijapo Housing Field, with three matches scheduled to take place.
