The Ondo State chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for appointing two of its members, Mr. Omolade Fabiyi and Mr. Oni Tope, to the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board.
In a letter of appreciation signed by its chairman, Dr. Monilari Abayomi Olugbenga, the association described the appointments as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to agricultural development and inclusive governance in the state.
AFAN stated that the inclusion of practicing farmers with hands-on experience in the management board reflects the administration’s recognition of the importance of farmers’ contributions to policymaking and implementation in the agricultural sector.
The association stressed that the newly appointed members possess the dedication, integrity and grassroots knowledge required to advance the objectives of the state’s Cocoa Revolution initiative.
It expressed confidence that they would contribute significantly to increasing cocoa production, improving farmers’ incomes and strengthening the cocoa value chain in Ondo State.
The association also reaffirmed its support for the Aiyedatiwa-led administration and the Cocoa Revolution and Management Board, pledging to mobilise farmers across the state’s 18 local government areas to adopt modern agricultural practices and participate actively in government programmes aimed at boosting food security and economic growth.
AFAN further expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for what it described as a thoughtful and strategic appointment, while praying for wisdom and strength for the governor as he continues to lead the state.
