The Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has paid glowing tribute to the late Senator Abraham Adesanya, describing him as a titan of conscience, courage, and unwavering patriotism.

In a statement signed by its National Organising Secretary, Abagun Kole Omololu, and made available to The Hope, the group described the late Adesanya as a beacon of progressive thought and a tireless advocate for true federalism.

“Senator Adesanya’s life embodied a deep commitment to the ideals of justice, liberty, and national equity,” the statement read.

Afenifere noted that during an era marred by dictatorship and democratic subversion, Adesanya stood firm as a lone voice of moral authority when many had chosen silence.

“His leadership was not characterised by noise or bluster, but by a dignified resolve that inspired a generation longing for a nation governed by fairness and reason,” the group stated.

It further noted that the late elder statesman understood that nations are not sustained merely by geographical boundaries, but by structures built on consensus, equity, and mutual respect.

“His consistent calls for restructuring were neither impulsive nor self-serving; they were the product of a visionary understanding that the strength of any nation lies in the inclusiveness of its foundation,” the statement added.

As the group reflected on the legacy of the late Adesanya, it stated that true leadership is not defined by the offices held but by an unwavering commitment to enduring principles.

“Afenifere salutes Papa Abraham Adesanya, a steadfast guardian of democratic ideals and a true architect of national hope.

“May his legacy continue to inspire generations to come,” the statement concluded
