Former Sunshine Queens player, Kehinde Aganmuyi, has expressed her joy over her contribution to Bayelsa Queens’ 3-0 victory over Adamawa Queens in her debut game on matchday four of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

Aganmuyi commended her teammates for their team spirit, stating that it was a great experience playing alongside players with a strong understanding of the game.

The former Sunshine Queens assistant captain described her teammates as superb, adding that they provided the necessary cover when it mattered most.

Aganmuyi, who did not feature in the first three games of the 2024/25 Women’s League, revealed that she had been training hard while waiting for her opportunity to play.

She said: “Our coach gave me the opportunity to play, and I grabbed it. To the best of my knowledge and from my teammates’ comments, I think I did well. I ensured I played according to the coach’s instructions.”

“I thank my coach, Whyte Ogbonda, for giving me the opportunity to showcase what I have to offer in the game against Adamawa Queens, which we won 3-0.”

“I must also commend Coach Oladimeji Abimbola, who converted me from an attacker to a defender during my time at Sunshine Queens.

“I’m really enjoying my new position.”

“I know all the tricks of attackers, maybe because I played in that position before.”

“I appreciate my supporters who have been eagerly waiting to see me feature for my new team.

“They should expect nothing but top performances from me whenever I get the chance to play.”

“I will always give my best whenever I’m selected. I came to Bayelsa to win with the team.”
