The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Temitope Alake, has disclosed that  ways out of the current hardship in the country are to embark on massive food production and entrepreneurship skills acquisition.

The Rector  disclosed the plans of the institution to embark on massive food production through the  and entrepreneurship skills acquisitionl.

He explained that the institution  has concluded plans to tackle the menace of food scarcity in the school, the move which he said would also improve their internally generated revenue.

The Rector spoke at the weekend during a press conference organized to mark his one year in office, also to showcase several developmental projects embarked upon by the   Polytechnic.

He called on  members of the public,  spirited individuals as well as members of alumni of the Polytechnic to assist the institution by donating tractors and other  agricultural implements to the school , saying that the move would not only enable it  to  achieve the goals of tackling the menace of hardship ravaging the country, but ensure food availability.

Lamenting over what he described as the decay of agricultural implements and tools in the agricultural department of the school, however solicited for the support of the Federal Government in the areas of logistics  which he said could assist the institution in tackling the menace of food scarcity.

The Rector expressed optimism that with the current plan before the management of the institution under his leadership, the school would soon become food hub of the nation.
