The Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Student Affairs, Kelvin Solomon Olaolu, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his exemplary leadership style, describing him as a man of calmness and wisdom whose approach to governance has positively influenced the student community in the state.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by various student associations to the governor, Olaolu said Aiyedatiwa’s composure and fatherly guidance had helped to sustain peace and stability among student leaders across institutions in Ondo State.
He recalled that his first encounter with the governor three years ago shaped his outlook on leadership.
“Three years ago, I came to your office and you told me to follow the right path. Since that day, I have never regretted following your advice,” he said.
Olaolu noted that despite his own temperament, he had learned to adopt the governor’s calmness in dealing with students’ issues, a quality he said had prevented several crises within the student community.
“The students have maintained the wisdom of God. If not, a lot of chaos would have happened. I thank you, sir, for bringing peace and calmness into the student community,” he added.
The governor’s aide lauded Aiyedatiwa’s continuous support for students, especially through interventions in transportation and welfare.
“You have been increasing bursary and scholarship allocations and even extended the gesture to private institutions. You also promised that more buses would be provided, and we know you are working on it,” he said.
Olaolu, who led members of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), the National Students in Education Association (NSI), the National Search Association (NSEARCH), and the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee (NANS JCC), said the visit was to familiarise the student bodies with the governor and to appreciate his efforts.
He expressed gratitude to Aiyedatiwa for finding time to meet with them despite his tight schedule, saying, “Your Excellency, you still made time for us as a father to his children. We are grateful.”
Olaolu prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon the governor, saying, “God has really placed you for us. May you never regret all your actions. We are only here to familiarise with you as you have directed. Thank you very much, sir, and God bless you.”
