Aiyedatiwa advocates love,commitment in marriage

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called for genuine love and commitment between newly weds.
He spoke during the solemnisation of holy matrimony between Elizabeth Oluwaseun and Victor Ayobami at the Prayer Centre Church of God (PCCG), Akure.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, the governor described marriage as an institution created by God which involves spiritual, emotional and physical closeness as stated in the Bible.
While congratulating the couple alongside their families, the Governor implored them to see themselves as one body in Christ praying that God’s purpose concerning marriage becomes fulfilled in the new home.
Speaking further, he said; “Marriage requires mutual love and commitment, so as to stand the test of time. The husband should not see the wife as a slave, you must love her, care for her and make sure she is carried along in every decision making process in the family;
“Likewise, the wife should submit herself to the husband and see him as an Institute of Lordship over her. Elizabeth, you must at all times respect your husband and be submissive to him;
“Marriage is meant to be enjoyed by the couple. I want you to know that you will atimes misunderstood each other, but make sure you settle every quarrel amicably between yourselves, without interference from families or friends.”
While praying that the couple enjoys the blessings of marriage, the Governor called for transparency between them adding that they make God the pillar of their home.
In his sermon, General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church, world-wide, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji ,who noted that there are three types of marriage including marriage at the Garden of Eden, that at the Canaan of Galilee and the coming of Jesus Christ, stated that the institution of marriage began at the Garden of Eden.
He explained that God instituted marriage to fulfill His works, adding that it comes with a lot of challenges.
He noted that a lot of marriages have been bruised due to couples’ inability to put God in their dealings calling on the newly weds to build their home on God ,saying “don’t allow your friends, parents or Pastor to design your marriage. You must allow the Holy Spirit to be at the centre of your marriage. You must not forsake the Author of marriage in your lives.”
He called for unconditional love and forgiveness between couple admonishing all to be of good conducts in their dealings in order to have a better society.
Oladeji also held a special prayer section for the state, Governor Aiyedatiwa as well as residents of the state.
Father of the groom and General Overseer, Prayer Centre Church of God (PCCG,) Prophet/Evangelist Samson Oluwamodede expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa and other dignitaries for the honour of gracing the occasion.
Dignitaries at the event include; Former Minister of State for transport, Ademola Adegoroye, Senator Robert Ajayi Borrofice, Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Olugbenga Ige as well as the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladenusi to mention a few.
