Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Monday commended retired security operatives in the state for their continued service in intelligence and security after retirement.
The Governor said the retired security operatives who continue to serve diligently, never retired from their roles.
Aiyedatiwa made this assertion during a courtesy visit from members of the retired Department of State Services of Nigeria, led by Chief Segun Daramola, on Monday, at the governor’s office in Akure.

The governor lauded the retired security operatives for naming him the association’s patron.
He accepted the honor and assured that the possibility of appointing their members to security positions would be reviewed.
Earlier, Chief Segun Daramola, who chaired the delegation, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his transformative initiatives that have put Ondo State on the global map.

He also expressed condolences on the passing of the late Governor Akeredolu and congratulated Aiyedatiwa on emerging as the APC flag bearer for the forthcoming state election. Daramola emphasized that, despite being retired, their members are still capable of contributing to the administration.
He praised the governor for maintaining security in the state, making it one of the safest in the country, and urged him to consider their members for security-related appointments, noting that one member played a pivotal role in forming the Amotekun Corps.
