Aiyedatiwa celebrates Tinubu aide’s father, Baba Arowolo, at 80

The Dome in Akure was agog on Saturday as dignitaries, family, and friends gathered to celebrate the 80th birthday of Baba Ifejola Arowolo, a revered pharmacist and former Director of Pharmaceutical Services in Ondo State.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented at the occasion by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, OON, extolled the celebrant’s legacy of excellence and service, describing him as a pillar in the fight against counterfeit drugs.
Aiyedatiwa, in his goodwill message delivered by Ajulo, acknowledged Arowolo’s pioneering role as the first Chairman of the National Drug Abuse Committee in Ondo State, where he led initiatives to combat the menace of substandard drugs.

Ajulo further conveyed the governor’s commendation of Mrs. Olu Verheijen, the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, for her steadfast care for her father and the family.
The event was graced by an array of distinguished personalities, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi; the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Kiladejo; the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, among others.
The colourful celebration featured glowing tributes, cultural displays, and heartfelt testimonies, underscoring Baba Arowolo’s indelible contributions to the pharmaceutical sector and public service in Ondo State and beyond.
