Aiyedatiwa constitutes Panel of Inquiry over Ugbo-Ugbonla communal crisis

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has constituted a six-man Panel of Inquiry on the communal crisis in Ugbonla community in Ilaje Local Government area of the state.
This development followed the recent violent clashes in the Ugbo-Ugbonla community over traditional leadership which led to loss of life and destruction of properties.
This is contained in a statement issued by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Tuesday.
The Panel constituted by the Governor is to establish the remote and immediate causes of the conflict in the community and to ascertain the roles played by various individuals and groups.
Members of the panel include Justice Sunday Olorundahunsi – Chairman ,Justice Orimisan Okorisa – Member ,Primate Afolabi Aboyewa – Member ,,Hon Hamidu Takuro – Member ,Mr. Yinka Orokoto – Member, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Dele Adesanmi – Secretary.
The terms of reference of the panel include identifying persons or groups who either by acts or omissions were directly or indirectly involved in, or sponsored the crisis and making recommendations on how to prevent similar crisis in future and other recommendations which the panel may consider appropriate in view of its findings.
The governor charged members of the panel to carry out the assignment with utmost commitment, discharge their duties without fear or favour and conclude the assignment within six weeks.
He also urged the people of the community to embrace peace and give members of the panel the needed cooperation to carry out their duties.
