…Harps on Inter-agency Collaboration

Security agencies need to work together, if the country must reduce insecurity to the barest minimum, governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said.

Aiyedatiwa stressed this point, while receiving executives of the Ondo state command of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in his office in Akure, on Thursday.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, acknowledged the contributions of PCRC to community policing, especially in the area of intelligence gathering.

He said, “Although we are beginning to witness more synergy among security agencies in the country but there is need to do more and shun Inter-agency rivalry, if we must tackle insecurity”

The governor restated his administration’s commitment to protecting residents of the state where they live, work and play.

In his opening remarks, the Ondo state chairman of PCRC, Mr. Gabriel Ariyo, said the visit was to bring the governor up to speed with regards to the committee’s activities and, to pledge their support to the state government.

Ariyo assured the government of their continued collaboration with security agencies in the state for optimal result.
