Aiyedatiwa orders rehabilitation of Igbokoda Water Scheme
Determined to prevent outbreak of waterborne diseases in the riverine areas of the state, Ondo State Government has ordered the immediate re-engineering and rehabilitation of the Igbokoda Water Scheme.
This will also make provision of potable water faster for the people of the area.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Mr. Sunday Akinwalire stated this when he took some experts round the site.
Akinwalire reiterated the determination of Governor Aiyedatiwa to ensure that all residents in the state do not only have potable water for their domestic and industrial needs but live in very hygienic environments where diseases are banished.
He warned against vandalization of government property which are made from time to time to make life easy and worth living for the masses
The commissioner cautioned that vandals caught will be handed over to appropriate authorities for necessary punitive actions.
He revealed that the project which will be completed soon will be handed over to the people to enhance its security and at the same time ensure it continues to thrive.
Olu of Igbokoda, Oba Afolabi Odidiomo commended the Governor for his love for his people as demonstrated by his approval of dredging of their canals and water locked channels and now the reengineering of their water project.
The monarch who appreciated the Commissioner and his team assured that his people will not only make judicious usage of the facilities but give them adequate security so that it will continue to serve their community.
