…Presents vehicles to Assembly Speaker, Deputy

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has stressed the need to fortify the security architecture within the state, emphasizing a commitment to supporting security agencies with necessary tools and resources.

Speaking after a strategic meeting with key commanders of security agencies, including the AIG, CP, and Amotekun, the governor outlined plans to address the pressing issue of mobility, a significant challenge hindering effective policing.

The meeting was aimed at bolstering the operational capabilities of security personnel by providing essential resources, particularly more operational vehicles, to facilitate mobility and enhance their capacity to police the state.

“We will support our security agencies by providing tools for them, more importantly, more operational vehicles for them to be able to move around to police the State,” stated the governor.

Acknowledging the critical role mobility plays in ensuring effective law enforcement, Aiyedatiwa affirmed the decision to procure more vehicles for security agencies, thereby enabling them to navigate diverse terrains and respond swiftly to security threats.

He also highlighted the distribution of vehicles to Permanent Secretaries in previous months, aimed at facilitating their movement and operational efficiency.

The governor reiterated his continued commitment to enhancing the welfare of citizens by implementing measures to mitigate the impact of economic challenges.

The provision of palliatives to alleviate the effects of fuel subsidy removal and the distribution of shuttles to civil servants and students exemplify the government’s dedication to supporting its people, especially in matters of mobility and security.

Meanwhile, in demonstrating his commitment to supporting the legislative arm of the state government, the governor presented official vehicles to the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji, and Deputy Speaker, Abayomi Akinruntan.

The vehicles were presented to the lawmakers at the Governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure, on Monday.

Aiyedatiwa said the vehicles were procured to ease the legislative duties of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly.

Additionally, Aiyedatiwa stressed the necessity of collaboration among stakeholders and state actors for the overall development of the state.

Speaker of the House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji expressed gratitude to the Governor for keeping to his words, describing it as a significant accomplishment.

Expressing gratitude to the Governor for fulfilling his promises, Oladiji deemed it a noteworthy achievement.

He reiterated the Assembly’s allegiance to the government and clarified that the vehicles would enhance their legislative responsibilities and foster stronger ties between the Assembly and other branches of government.

Deputy governor, Dr, Olayide Adelami, the SSG, Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi and
chief of staff, prince segun Omojuwa were also in attendance.
