Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing robust security for students at all educational levels across the state.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Aiyedatiwa made this commitment during a courtesy visit from members of the Man O’War security team to the governor’s office in Akure on Thursday.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized that Ondo State is currently one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. He noted that the discussions held with the Man O’War team would further bolster the state government’s ongoing efforts to secure lives and property.
“The state will partner with you on your commendable initiatives for Ondo State. Our administration will provide assistance in areas of your need with the resources available.”

“The governor is committed to ensuring the security of our students. This collaboration will also promote discipline among students, reducing instances of children roaming the streets during school hours,” Omojuwa added.
Earlier in his remarks, the National Commander of Man O’War, Adedamola Gbenga, who led the team, stated, “We are here today to pledge our support to the government and the good people of Ondo State.
“Man O’War is a voluntary organization that renders security services and voluntary community development programs. We are here to register our support for the government and the people of Ondo State.”
Gbenga elaborated on their initiatives, saying, “We are here to inform His Excellency about some of our projects and programs that need to be executed in Ondo State, such as the Operation Stay in School program. This initiative aims to provide security for secondary schools and higher institutions in Nigeria.”
“We have discussed this project with the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services, and now we are discussing it with the governor of Ondo State. This is our offer to enhance the security of our educational institutions.”
In addition, Gbenga continued, “We are here to inform His Excellency about other Man O’War activities that need government support. For instance, we can assist the government in providing enforcement support for the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) team.
“We have discussed this, and once the governor returns, we are ready and willing to offer this support to the government and the people of Ondo State.”
In attendance were Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Smart Omodunbi, and other dignitaries.
