Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering women through skill acquisition programmes aimed at enhancing their economic well-being and tackling poverty.

Speaking during an inspection tour of skill acquisition centres in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye, underscored the government’s determination to equip women with the necessary skills to become self-reliant and employers of labour.

Dr Osamaye charged the participants to remain focused and committed to their training, assuring them of continuous government support.

She emphasised that the Aiyedatiwa-led administration would not relent in its efforts to uplift women across the state.

The empowerment programme, which cuts across the 18 local government areas of the state, offers training in various vocational fields, including tailoring, tie and dye, confectionery, and information and communication technology (ICT).

Expressing their appreciation, the beneficiaries lauded the initiative, describing it as a life-changing opportunity that would significantly improve their livelihoods.
