Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called on the people of Ogbagi-Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area to continue to live in unity and harmony for the overall progress and development of their community.
The governor made the appeal on Saturday during the 38th Ogbagi Day Celebration, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting inclusive growth across the state.
Represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Samson Akande, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and supportive of government programmes aimed at advancing the state’s development agenda.
Akande said, “The Governor recognizes Ogbagi as an important community in Ondo State, which he holds in high regard. He wants the people to know that his administration understands their pains and concerns, particularly the deplorable condition of the federal road linking Ogbagi to Ikare, from Ado to Ikare.”
He assured that the present administration is already embarking on several developmental projects that will positively impact Ogbagi and neighbouring communities, promising that the town would not be left out of the state’s infrastructural renewal drive.
The governor also extended his warm felicitations to the traditional ruler of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, wishing him a joyous celebration and continued reign of peace and prosperity.
In his remarks, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, described this year’s celebration as one of the most memorable in the town’s history, calling on residents to sustain peace and unity for the progress of the community.
Oba Adetona said, “Today’s event has been truly glorious. I believe this is one of the best Ogbagi Day celebrations we have ever witnessed. This marks the 38th edition of Ogbagi Day, and this year’s celebration came with unique glamour. We must ensure that peace reigns because without peace, there can be no meaningful progress.”
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Forestry, Comrade Olorunfemi Chris, applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for his focus on infrastructure and rural development
Also, the Ajalosiolojauso of Ogbagi, Chief Olutope Adebambo, urged residents to work in unity with their monarch for the continuous growth of the town.
