Aiyedatiwa won’t be distracted by antics, blackmail of opposition – Akinlosotu

Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress candidate in the November 16 governorship election, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is focused on the development of the state and the improvement of the welfare of its people.

Information Commissioner Wale Akinlosotu stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to the growth and transformation of the state is a duty from which he will not be distracted.

The commissioner noted that the plots and lies of the opposition to tarnish the governor’s image would always crumble like a house of cards, as well-meaning Ondo State citizens, and indeed Nigerians at home and abroad, are wise enough to discern the opposition’s falsehoods.

Akinlosotu, reacting to a viral video of molestation involving a man and a woman, said that describing the person in the video as Aiyedatiwa, despite there being no resemblance, demonstrates how malicious the opposition in the state can be.

He stated, “Even the blind can see that there is no resemblance between the person in the viral video and Governor Aiyedatiwa. The opposition has failed in that regard once again, as the people of Ondo State and Nigerians know that the opposition’s claim that the person in the video is Governor Aiyedatiwa is not true.

“The individuals and groups who engaged in photo manipulation or mischief with the intention of distorting reality to defame the governor did so hastily, making it clear that the person is not Mr Governor. This is yet another failed attempt by the opposition. It is evident that the person in the video is not Mr Governor.

“This has further exposed the opposition as individuals and groups that cannot be trusted, as they will always manipulate facts and figures to deceive innocent citizens at any opportunity.

“The fear and worries in the camps of the opposition are mounting daily with the growing support for Mr Governor among the people of Ondo State and the increasing backing for his second term bid. Hence, the opposition has resorted to changing tactics. They will all crumble.

“Since he assumed office, Mr Governor has been actively attending to the needs of Ondo State and its citizens. He is forging ahead and is not distracted by the opposition’s efforts to deprive the state of the life-transforming programmes, projects, and policies that will be realised during his second term.

“The governor, committed to addressing the plight of the state’s citizens, has graciously approved a minimum wage of N73,000 for Ondo State workers. This will improve the livelihoods of workers and their families, with the money being spent in our markets, thereby positively impacting the state’s economy.

“In the last 10 months, the Aiyedatiwa administration has initiated several important projects. The government has made significant strides in the agricultural sector, boosting food production across the state.

“The Aiyedatiwa administration has also approved over a billion naira for land clearing and launched various rural road construction projects to facilitate farmers’ activities and enhance productivity in rural areas, ensuring food security.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa is dedicated to enhancing security and improving the health and education sectors, as well as changing the fortunes of workers, pensioners, youth, and the private sector for the better.

“The governor is committed to all these initiatives and more. He cannot and will not be distracted by anything, including the blackmail and antics of the opposition,” Akinlosotu concluded.
