Aiyedatiwa’s educational strides lauded as NAOSS elects new leaders

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been widely praised for his significant investments in the educational sector, which have greatly improved the learning environment for students across the state.

His administration’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities, including prompt payment of bursaries and scholarships, has been instrumental in uplifting the lives of Ondo State students.

These sentiments were echoed by many during the recent elections for the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) on Sunday, at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre, where the new leadership of the Association was chosen.

The electoral process was overseen by Comrade Olowookere Timilehin, who described the event as one of the most peaceful and credible elections in the history of NAOSS. Students of Ondo State origin gathered from various parts of the country to exercise their democratic rights, marking a significant moment for student representation.

The election commenced with the accreditation of Senators at 11 am and concluded around 7 pm after all Senators had cast their votes and results were collated.

The following candidates emerged victorious:Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin — Executive President ; Senator Oyesaanu Fayowole — Senate President; Comrade Arafat Mohammed — Vice President ; and Comrade Agbeni Kehinde — General Secretary.

Others are : Comrade Ajaman Dein Desmond — Assistant General Secretary ; Senator Saliub Shina — Deputy Senate President ; Senator Oluloro Emmanuel — Clerk ; Comrade Ajisola Kehinde — Treasurer ;
Comrade Elijah Segun — Financial Secretary ; and Comrade Ganiyu Yusuf — Public Relations Officer .

Also Comrade Agboola Olakunle — Director of Special Duties ;Comrade Olasegiri Bode — Director of Sports ;Comrade Odunayo Adeniyi — Director of Socials ; and Comrade Ajayi Olusegun — Chief Whip.

In his remarks, the outgone National President of NAOSS, Comrade Oyelade Hammed, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ondo State Government, particularly to Governor Aiyedatiwa, for his unwavering support for students and his administration’s focus on educational reforms.

Hammed urged the newly elected leaders to prioritise the welfare of Ondo State students and maintain the integrity of the association.

The newly elected Executive President, Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin, expressed his appreciation to the student populace for their trust and confidence.

He pledged to work closely with the Ondo State Government to ensure the welfare of all Ondo State students across the country, emphasising the importance of collaboration between student leadership and government support.

Tosin, a student of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology from Idanre Local Government area of Ondo State, along with Senate President Senator Fayowole Oyesaanu from Ilaje Local Government, represents a new generation of leaders committed to advancing the interests of their peers.

After the election, Senator Ajayi Aderibigbe expressed optimism about the new leadership and commended the Electoral Committee for conducting a fair and transparent election
