Aiyedatiwa’s election: Olukare’s son compensates Okada riders with free fuel

By Adeboye Ado

As part of efforts to celebrate the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the Saturday’s gubernatorial election, the son of the Olukare of Ikare, Prince Azeez Momoh, has distributed free fuel to hundreds of commercial motorcyclists, also known as Okada riders.

The beneficiaries, mainly from Akoko North-East and Akoko North-West Local Government areas of Ondo State, received the fuel on at KSA&B, Ardova PLC, Mobil, and Damatol filling stations.

In his address, the Convener of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO FSIC), Hon. Oladipupo Okeyomi, also known as Carry-Go, stated that the kind gesture was aimed at compensating the motorcyclists who had worked and contributed to the victory of the governor in the just concluded governorship election.

“We are here to distribute fuel to Okada riders who volunteered to accompany the Governor during his visit to Ikare and other areas last week,” he said.

“Today is loyalty free fuel; we want to reward them for following the Governor. Earlier, we didn’t give them fuel when they followed Governor Aiyedatiwa, so now we want to make it up to them. I thank our Prince, Azeez Momoh, for distributing the free fuel. He is our illustrious son in Ikare, and we are grateful to him.”

Okeyomi, who represented Aiyedatiwa at the stations, urged the motorcyclists to continue to remain peaceful, even after the all-important governorship election.

He also called on the residents to continue to be law-abiding, stressing that meaningful development can only take place in a peaceful atmosphere.

Momoh specifically commended the Governor for the infrastructure being developed by his administration, while urging the residents to continue supporting his policies, which he described as beneficial.

Additionally, the Coordinator of Motorcyclists in Ikare-Akoko, Mr. Alako Jamiu, expressed his appreciation to Prince Momoh for dispensing the fuel amid the current economic challenges.

Some of the beneficiaries — Olawale Kehinde, Adejoro Omooba, Bamiselu Johnson, and Balogun Tope — thanked Prince Momoh and promised to support the current administration in the state.
