The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Wemimo Akinsola, has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for signing four Executive Orders aimed at bolstering agricultural and economic activities in the state.
Akinsola, speaking during a press briefing at his Alagbaka office in Akure, highlighted the significance of the Executive Orders in creating employment for youths and enhancing land accessibility for farmers.
He explained that the measures introduced by the Executive Orders would not only foster an enabling environment for business growth but also safeguard landowners while improving physical planning across the state.
Akinsola added that the new policies are poised to attract foreign investments in mechanised farming and agricultural value chains, further positioning the state as a hub for agribusiness.
“The Aiyedatiwa-led administration is poised to reposition agriculture in the state. The government is going to acquire more land in the three Senatorial Districts in agreement with the families and host communities. After the necessary agreements are made, the land will be allocated to investors and farmers,” he said.
He assured that the Executive Orders would address issues related to land grabbing and other barriers to land acquisition for agricultural and developmental purposes.
Additionally, Akinsola noted that the policies would drive agribusiness reforms by providing stakeholders with mutually beneficial resolutions to land disputes and unlocking investment opportunities.
Governor Aiyedatiwa recently signed the four Executive Orders, which focus on transparency in regulatory processes by MDAs, agribusiness reforms, improved physical planning, and the prohibition of land grabbing.
