Aiyedatiwa’s leadership will drive rapid development – APC chieftain, Dapo Filani

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Chief Dapo Filani, has applauded the state Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for upgrading Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) to a university.
The Governor had approved the upgrade and conversion of RUGIPO to a University of Agriculture and Agribusiness.
Filani, a public affairs commentator, stated that the development would enhance the production of cutting-edge applications for security, the power sector, AI-compliant education, and other industries that could boost the state’s economy.
He noted that Ondo State is lucky to have Governor Aiyedatiwa, whom he described as a lover of education and someone committed to revitalising the sector to restore its lost glory.
Speaking at an event in Akure on Wednesday, the septuagenarian highlighted that Aiyedatiwa’s leadership journey has been marked by dedication, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the growth and prosperity of the Sunshine State.
He expressed confidence that, under the governor’s stewardship, the state will witness unprecedented progress, unity, and development across all sectors through the “Our Ease” agenda of his administration.
Filani affirmed that Governor Aiyedatiwa would bring all-round development in education, health, agriculture, security, rural transformation, and overall quality of life for the people of the state. He assured that the Sunshine State is in safe hands.
He also commended the governor for retaining and appointing technocrats and competent professionals to drive and actualise his vision for the state’s rapid development.
Filani described the appointment of Dr Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the reappointments of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Kayode Ajulo, SAN; the Commissioner for Finance, Omowunmi Isaac; the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, among other advisers, as placing round pegs in round holes.
According to him, the governor has hit the ground running, making it evident that he is eager to realise his vision for the state’s overall benefit.
He, however, called for the support of relevant stakeholders and the entire citizenry to achieve the desired results, emphasising that the governor has shown leadership and is getting it right from the start of his administration.
While congratulating Aiyedatiwa on his inauguration, Filani urged him to continue improving the state’s security architecture and opening up rural roads to encourage farmers and ensure food sufficiency.
Additionally, he appealed to the governor to urgently address the rivalry among traditional rulers in the state to prevent a possible breakdown of law and order.
He suggested that a committee be set up to address issues, including boundary disputes and paramountcy, without undermining traditional institutions.
