Ajabue: Owo stands still, gives last respect to Akeredolu

The entire Owo community stood still for the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, on Wednesday as the Ajabue traditional dance held as part of the over one week funeral activities for the late former number one citizen of the sunshine state.

The turnout was massive and unprecedented as both, young and old, men and women, topnotch politicians, professionals from all class, the low and the high in the society, people from far and near, joined the people of Owo to give last respect to the deceased.

The turnout showed that the the people of the ancient community love their son, even in death.

Right from the GRA home of the late former Governor, the people who were all dressed in the aso ebi specially designed for the dance, all sang in praise of the people’s man, eulogising him for his good works, especially his projects which have not only transformed the entire landscape of the state, but also impacted meaningfully on the people.

Throughout the entire professional dance which stretched to Imade College area of Oke-Ogun, Owo, the people never showed any sign of stress or tiredness.

It was indeed an occasion to behold.

The event which was attended by friends and families, political disciples of the late former Governor, saw his children leading the procession.

Notable among the children of the deceased was Babajide Akeredolu.

The majority leader of Ondo State House of Assembly, Ogunmolasuyi, former Head of Service of the state and a Senior Special Assistant on Union Matters under the late former Governor, Mr Dare Aragbaye, former Commissioner for Works in the state, Raimi Aminu, member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National House of Assembly, Timilehin Adelegbe and many APC bigwigs took part and participated in the Ajabue dance.
