Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State will continue to take steps that will bring qualitative and affordable education to the doorsteps of the people of the State and beyond.

This promise was made by the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof Igbekele Ajibefun while addressing the 193 matriculating students of College of Education, Ero-Akure. The College trains students in education-related courses in affiliation with Adekunle Ajasin University.

Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Francis Gbore, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the students for being among the successful few who sought admission into the institution. He urged them to utilise the opportunity afforded by the admission to improve themselves and add value to the society.

He, however, cautioned them against vices that could jeopardise their studentship warning that the University would not hesitate to wield the axe on any erring student.

He added that, “In line with the culture of excellence in AAUA, we shall ensure that academic and other support staff are not only qualified, highly motivated, but also they constantly update their knowledge and enhance their skills.

“The University expects you to maintain peace on campus by comporting and conducting yourselves well and decently. This University has zero tolerance for anti-social behaviours and vices.”

The acting Registrar, Mr Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa later administered the Matriculation Oath on the students where they pledged to shun acts inimical to the image of the Institution.

The University delegation later visited the palace of the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede where the traditional ruler promised to mobilise every needed resource to make the College thrive in the town.
