The Attorney-General described the new INEC Chairman as a scholar whose leadership and integrity serve as a model for all, noting that Amupitan’s rise from a respected law lecturer to a Professor of Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria reflects a life of service and excellence.
He highlighted Amupitan’s notable career, including his roles as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) at the University of Jos and Pro-Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University.
Ajulo also mentioned Amupitan’s contributions to national policy and education governance through his work with the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and the Council of Legal Education.
He further noted that Amupitan attained the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2014, a testament to his excellence in the legal profession and has also made significant strides in corporate governance.
Describing him as a prolific author, Ajulo said Amupitan’s works have become authoritative references in legal scholarship, cementing his place as a thought leader in Nigeria’s legal and academic community.
Expressing optimism, Ajulo said INEC would witness a “new dawn of credibility, transparency, and efficiency” under Amupitan’s leadership.
