The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has said the party and the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu did not mislead people and the entire public over the defection of the members of the African Democratic Congress in Akure South Local Government area into the APC in the state.
In an interview with The Hope, the Director of Media and Publicity of APC in the state, Mr. Steve Otaloro cleared the air over the recent defection of ADC’s members into APC, saying that the defection was unanimous decision of the defectors led by Mr. Femi Bello at the party’s secretariat where they were received by Governor Akeredolu.
He said the defection was an open event covered by journalists in the state last month, adding that APC in the state would not use propaganda to mislead general public as claimed by ADC in the state.
Otaloro pointed out that ” This is the statement of the defectors led by Mr Femi Bello that we are collapsing the entire ADC for APC in the state .
“There is no question of misleading the public because the ADC in Akure South Local Government led by Mr Bello said they actually collapsed entire ADC in the local government for APC.
” This is not our statement and has nothing to do with Governor Akeredolu”
He maintained that it is true that non is remained in Akure South Local Government of ADC due to the array of the party’s members defected to APC in the state.
The Director of Media and Publicity added that the issue of misleading did not arise just as he noted that it is the unanimous decision of the defected ADC’s members which the APC welcomed
Otaloro advised the general public to disregard the malicious statement by ADC that APC used propaganda to mislead people in the state.
