Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved fund  for the construction of farmers market in Akure, the  state capital.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agric and Agric Business, Pastor Akin Olotu disclosed this in a chat with The Hope yesterday.

Olotu said the construction of the market will begin immediately after Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections to alleviate the sufferings of farmers on where to sell their produce.

Olotu stated that the market is to ease challenges confronting farmers producing  crops like pepper, Okro, cucumber and tomatoes who claimed they were  taxed  heavily at Shasha market at Oba-Ile.

While speaking on  school farm,  Olotu said the Ministry of Education is working on it and has part of the programme in the budget.

His words:” We have been on it and good enough, a lot of the schools are adopting the concept and we have a lot of them producing one thing or the other today,” he stated.
