Akeredolu assures on Okeluse Ethanol Plant project

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), had last weekend, assured the people of Okeluse in Ose Local Government Area the State that the Ethanol Plant Company initiated by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporations (NNPC) will in no distant time come to reality.

Akeredolu gave the assurance at the funeral service of Madam Maria Adelegbe, mother of the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, held at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Okeluse.

The Governor maintained that the town will become an industrial hub that will generate huge revenue to the state and country at large and would also improve the socio-economic development of the state when the plant is finally completed.

Arakunrin Akeredolu who stressed that NNPC is fully committed to the project, said  the petroleum body had made efforts by travelling to China to chat a way forward which demonstrates their readiness and seriousness to making the project a reality.

Governor Akeredolu who enjoined people of the state to cooperate with his government for more meaningful and impactful developmental projects, noted that he will not relent in initiating people-driven projects that will better the lots of the citizenry.

He described late Maria Adelegbe as a dutiful and God fearing woman who was fully committed to the service of the and humanity  during her lifetime and even till old age.

“No doubt, losing one’s mother at whatever age, always feels like one had lost an irreplaceable piece of oneself and by extension, that of the entire family whose vacuum would be hard to fill.

“We, however, take solace in the fact that Mama lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation, having positively impacted on the lives of her children, family and the community at large during her lifetime.

“We are equally comforted that death, though an end to life, here on earth, is the beginning of another life in the great beyond”, he said.

Akeredolu however, admonished the deceased children to endeavour to sustain their parents inspiring legacies and even strive to surpass them.

Aged 93, Madam Maria Adelegbe who until her death, was a Philanthropist, a Matron of Egbe Irepodun Age Grade and a member of Egbe Alaafia, contributed immensely to the development of her community.

Present at the ceremony include the Governor’s wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi, his wife Ajewole, Deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Iroju Ogundeji, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi, his counterpart for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro and Caretaker Chairman of Akoko South West local government and ALGON Chairman, Mr Augustine Oloruntogbe.

Others are; Caretaker Chairman of Owo Local Government, Mr Gani Omoluka, his counterpart for Ose, Mr Agboola Ajike, Olute of Ute, Oba Oluwole Akinrogbe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters, Mr Alaba Isijola, Chief Rotimi Ibidapo, former Akure South Local Government, Hon Adedayo Omolafe, former NUJ National Deputy President, Prince Rotimi Obamuwagun, Mr Olayato Aribo among numerous others.
