The Chairman, South West Governors’ Forum and Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has extolled the virtues of pioneer Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, as he clocks 82 years.
Akeredolu described the octogenarian as a man of many parts who meant a lot not only to the South West but Nigeria as a whole.
In his birthday message to the elder statesman issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo, the Governor encouraged all to emulate Chief Bisi Akande’s honesty, rare humility and uncommon commitment to selfless service to the people and the Nation at large.
“The most adorable of all virtues is humility; he possesses it from which many other values flow.
“Abhorring no grudges and dispensing leadership at will at every needful point, Chief Akande has offered the Yoruba Nation and indeed, Nigeria very enviable paths to follow along the line of integrity and exemplified altruism.
“His commitments to humanity are legendary even as he exudes moderation of immeasurable heights. No doubt, his deeply inexorable comportment, rare humility and uncommon commitment to selfless service to the people have combined to mark paths of honesty to emulate. He means a lot to Nigeria.
“On this auspicious occasion of his 82nd birthday, it is our prayer that the ideals he has demonstrated, represented and yearned for all his life shall manifest to moments of glory in his life time”, Akeredolu added.
