Akeredolu, Fayemi, Alasoadura, others honour Adegboro at 70

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has described Prince Olu Adegboro as a rallying point for all politicians in the state.

Akeredolu who led eminent personalities in the state and beyond to felicitate with family, friends and political associates of the Akure, born prince and politician at his 70th birthday celebration, said Adegboro is a household name and a point of reference in the nations polity.

 The governor who was represented by his deputy, Agboola Ajayi congratulated the elder statesman for attaining the age of 70, saying it is a special grace from God to go that far.

“We thank God for your life, to have attained this age of 70 is by God’s grace. We know your stuff and we acknowledge your contributions which is in no small measure to the development of Akure land, the state and even the nation at large.

“Prince Adegboro has always been there to give advice at any critical point  in the state and that is why we joined the who is who in the country to grace this occassion and celebrate the elder Stateman”, he stated.

While congratulating the celebrant for his years of outstanding service and great achievements Akeredolu wished him many more peaceful years ahead and urged him not to relent in his fatherly advice in the interest of the country.

In his goodwill message, a Senator representing Ondo Central, Sen. Tayo Alasoadura said Adegboro was a force to reckon with in the polity, who knew and still knows what he want and how to go about it

Alasoadura who described the celebrant as a great strategic planner, organiser and a first class brain, said Adegboro has grown old and has mellowed down from whom he used to be in the past politics, praying that he will witness more beautiful years in life.

Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Prince Dr. Aladejana Ogunleye described the celebrant as an astute politician who has impacted positively the lives of the people, the Akure community, the state and the entire nation.

Also speaking with The Hope in different interviews, the wife of the celebrant,  Mrs Margaret and the children described Adegboro as loving and nice to be with, wishing him many more wonderful years in good health of mind and body.

In his remarks, the celebrant, Prince Adegboro expressed gratitude to God for keeping him all through the struggle of life and overcoming its attendant challenges.

“I am grateful to God for His grace. My journey through these years has not been too smooth but I thank God for overcoming all the challenges I have faced. I want to mellow down now and stays back like a father to watch over and give advice”, he added.

The event which also featured a lectured titled Reminiscences of a ‘wasted generation’ was delivered by Mr.  Tokunbo Ajasin who highlighted some of the major shifts in the past years of the country.

In attendance at the event were members of the state executive council, top government functionaries, representative of Ekiti State governor, bigwigs from different political classes across the nation among others.
