Akeredolu, Fayemi congratulate Buhari

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr Kayode Fayemi have described President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the last Saturday’s presidential election as that which signified the acceptability of his leadership by majority of Nigerian citizens.

Akeredolu’s message was contained in a press release made available to The Hope in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Segun Ajiboye.

According to the statement, Akeredolu joined millions of Nigerians to congratulate President Buhari on his re-election as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The governor said the victory belongs to all Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic and religious beliefs.

He was optimistic that the next level promised  Nigerian citizens by President Buhari will indeed take the country to unprecedented heights.

Governor Fayemi also said the President will not renege  on his promise he made to the people of the country while soliciting for their votes and supports in the just concluded presidential election.

Fayemi dropped the hint yesterday in Ado-Ekiti shortly after his arrival from Abuja where he has gone to felicitate with the President over his reelection, said the victory of Buhari at the poll is a clear attestation to the fact that  Nigerians appreciate his efforts at making life more bearable for the people  in the last four years he has been piloting the affairs of the country.

The Ekiti State Governor who described President Buhari as a focused, compassionate and sincere leader with genuine concern for the overall good of the citizenry, noted that Nigerian electorate have demonstrated that given a choice, they would readily choose a sincere leader who cares for their wellbeing above other considerations.

He said the electorate have again demonstrated that power truly belongs to the people. He said that the victory is a confirmation of the people’s trust in President Buhari and the APC-led government, adding that the President would not take the trust for granted.

Dr Fayemi said: “On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Ekiti State, the Land of Honour, I heartily congratulate our President for this historic re-election as President for a second term.
