Akeredolu is building resilient economy – Igbasan

Ondo State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan has said that the present administration under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would continue to build resilient and sustainable economy in the  State.

Pastor Igbasan stated this during an empowerment programme of items which include cars, motorcycles, and cash gifts  worth millions of naira to the people of Irele Local Government Area of the state,  to reduce  the rate of unemployment and enhance better living standard for the people in the council in particular and the state in general.

While enumerating some of the achievements of the present administration on infrastructural development which include  renovation of over 500 dilapidated public schools across the state,  construction/rehabilitation of roads brigdes/culvert across the state,  he added  that the restoration of electricity to the Southern Senatorial District which has  been without public power for the past ten years has commenced.

According to the commissioner, the State government recently entered into partnership with a reputable   China Company, China Railway Construction Corporation International (CRCC) to develop a 130 km four (4)lane dual carriage road – Araromi – Okitipupa – Ondo – Akure Expressway.

He said all these developmental projects would increase job opportunities, increase internally generated revenue, encourage investors both home and abroad and enhance the economic development of the State.

He disclosed that all arrangements have been concluded by the Akeredolu-led administration to engage all unemployed youths in the area in a productive and sustainable business ventures that would not only enhance the economy of the area but also the State at large.

According to a statement from the Media Manager of Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, Banjo Egunjobi, Igbasan said the empowerment programme was another milestone in his effort at ensuring quality of life for his people and show appreciation for the unflinching support he had been enjoying from the people over the years.

He said “we are gathered in honour of my people. I have been doing this even before l ventured into politics. In my past empowerment programmes, several families were established and uplifted economically.”

Pastor Igbasan appealed to the people to continue to support the administration of Governor Akeredolu and APC party to further enjoy dividends of democracy as well as improve the socio-economic development of the state., saying they would never be disappointed.

He said, “ Akeredolu will never disappoint you. I therefore urge you to shun rumour mongering, blackmails, pull him down syndrome and bitterness against one another. Opposition parties have no place to operate in Irele land”.

 He, therefore, called for continuous support for the state government, stressing that the present administration would  continue to make positive impacts on the lives of Ondo State people.

Speaking at the ceremony, the State Governor,  lauded the kind gesture of the Commissioner which he said would make the people to be more economically viable, self reliant and productive members of the society.

The Governor, who was represented by the state Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Engr, Ade Adetimehin charged the beneficiaries of the gifts to make judicious use of the items to create wealth for themselves and improve their living standard.

The Chairman of APC in the local government, Chief Omoge Akindele thanked the Commissioner for positively impacting on the lives of the people of the area, urging the people to keep faith with the party for more empowerment programmes.

Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Chief Julius Omosehin and Mr Segbemi Ilemobayo, who received a Honda Pilot Jeep and a Toyota Camry car respectively said they would always be grateful to Pastor Igbasan for his benevolence towards improving their living standard, promising that they would continue to work for the success of the present administration.
