Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has commended the people of the state for their commitment to the prompt payment of taxes just as he also sues for more cooperation from them.
He made the commendation during the budget presentation at the State House of Assembly complex, Akure last Monday.
According to him, payment of tax especially by market men and women has brought improvement to the state’s economy saying “you have demonstrated to us your readiness to contribute directly or indirectly to the state’s economic growth.”
While commending them specifically for their support for government, he appealed to tax defaulters to turn a new leaf by getting involved in performing their civic responsibility in order to speed up developmental process in the state.
However, he warned those who engage in injurious practices to desist from such saying “we are ever ready to reward excellence and dedication to service, we shall not fail to sanction, swiftly and firmly any errant attitudes which stand against decency and progress. “
