Akeredolu lauds RUGIPO’s Governing Council

The Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo and its management have been commended for their excellent performance .
The accolade was given by the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the foundation laying ceremony of an ultra modern students hostel.
The new hostel accommodation/Students’ Village when completed would have 24Hours Electricity Supply through solar and locally generated hydro power with 16,480 Units of Students’ Hostels consisting 10 Blocks, 3 Floors, 412 Rooms per Block and 1,648 Bed spaces.
His words: Let me note the efforts of the most Enterprising Governing Council of this Polytechnic, except we don’t want to be honest with ourselves.
He described the set of people in the Governing Council as the best Governing Council this polytechnic ever had.”
“They are good because Banji Alabi himself attended this Polytechnic, so he must come back to his Alma mata to work. He has always showed that he has passion for this polytechnic. I want to congratulate you and your members for the great work you are doing.”
The Governor said “you have performed excellently and you have made me proud. It is not a surprise to me, when I appointed you and your team, I know that I have chosen the right people. I know what you can do.
“Ever since the school was established, no Chairman has performed what you have done. Your commitment to the success of this citadel of learning is great. I want to commend you members of the governing council, the school management and the entire students for this great feat.”
The governor solicited the cooperation of both staff and students with the Rector, Mr Gani Ogundahunsi, who he said was performing creditably well.
“We thank the Rector for his effort at attracting about Two Billion Naira TETFUND, to assist in the infrastructural upgrade of this Polytechnic. We are aware you used your connections. Thank you and thank you”, he said.
In his response, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Banji Alabi thanked the Governor for his support for the school and assured him of his unalloyed commitment to the school.
The Chairman appreciated the Polytechnic staff over their support.
“From all of us in this Polytechnic community, we say a big thank you . We also assure you of our continue commitment to growth, progress and success of this school. We will not relent in our collective efforts,” Alabi said
