The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu yesterday approved the immediate payment of a sum of Two hundred million naira (#200,000,000) scholarship for all the indigenous students of the State in tertiary institutions. According to a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Scholarship Board, Rev. Akin Asaniyan, the payment will be paid immediately Governor Akeredolu has also increased Law students scholarship fund to a sum One hundred thousand naira (#100,000) per person.
“Mr Governor who expressed his concern for the welfare of the students at this critical period of economic hardship, opined that the award would alleviate same.
“The Commissioner Ministry of Education, Science and Technology expressed appreciation for the gesture especially at this dire time.“He admonished the students to face their studies and wished them success in their education. “The Permanent Secretary of the Scholarship Board, Rev. Akin Asaniyan appreciated Mr Governor for this kind gesture,” the statement reads.
