Akeredolu pledges more people-oriented projects

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has pledged more people-oriented projects in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promise that the people of the state will enjoy dividends of good governance under his administration.

Akeredolu made the pledge in Owo, his hometown during a Holy Communion Service and Festival of Hymns and Praises in honour of the governor and his wife, Arabinrin  Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu on their birthdays.

The governor’s wife birthday was on Saturday  while Sunday was the governor’s. No special event was organised to mark the low-key event which was attended by some members of his family and a few of his associates.

The Holy Communion held at the Chapel of the Epiphany within the Oluwarotimi Akeredolu residence at the GRA, Ijebu Owo, was presided over by the Dean of the Cathedral, St Andrews, Imola, Owo, Very Rev. Raphael Agboola  assisted by other clerics including the Chaplain of the Government House Chapel, Ven. Bejamin Babalola.

The governor used the Thanksgiving service to sing various praise songs to appreciate God for the journey so far.

He thanked all present for their love and prayers for him and his government, calling for more of it, so that the state would continue to witness more progress and development.

Earlier in his sermon, Very Rev. Raphael Agboola admonished all Christians to always give thanks to God, their creator, no matter their situation, saying doing so would enable God do more good things in their lives.

According to him, whatever anybody achieves in life, including position has been ordained by God,  noting that people must learn to appreciate the almighty God for preserving their lives as many of their contemporaries have died and have no hope again.

“It is by his grace that we are still alive till today. You are better than those in the mortuary. You are better than those in the grave. When there is life, there is hope. So, no matter the challenge, we must learn how to glorify God, “he stressed.

At the event, the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, said Governor Akeredolu’s various developmental projects across the state showed that he is a very responsive and responsible leader.

Prayers were thereafter offered for the governor, his family, the state and the country.
