Akeredolu presents 2023 budget to ODHA

Barring any hitch, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu will today present the year 2023 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly .

The Hope can authoritatively reveal that all is now set to transmit the appropriation bill to the House for scrutiny, defence and passage after all Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs had appeared before the State Ministry  of Economic Planning and Budget for pre-treasury.

The State House of Assembly had last week passed into law ,a bill for a law to amend the year 2022 appropriation known as reordered budget.

It would be recalled that the State House of Assembly last year passed into law a total sum of One Hundred and Ninety-Nine Billion, Two Hundred and Eighty- Two Million, Four Hundred and Thirty-Seven Thousand Naira (N199,282,437,000.00) for  both recurrent, capital expenditures,debt services and statutory transfer.

 The year 2022 budget projection was increased by 3.6 percent of N6,944,056,000.00 billion naira , bringing it to over #199 billion naira which was higher than the initial proposal of N191,638,387,000 Billion naira presented to the House.

The 2022 budget, tagged ‘Budget of Economic Re -Engineering”, was slightly higher than the 2021 budget, which was 174.873 billion  naira.The 2022 budget represents an increase of 9.59 percent over the budget of 2021.

In a telephone interview, the Chairman, House Committee on lnformation, Akogun Olugbenga Omole confirmed to The Hope that the House is expecting the presentation of the 2023 budget proposal from the executive today.

He said it is a delight that the 9th assembly would be receiving the appropriation bill in the newly renovated hallowed chamber.
